more correctly known as the Norcia or Spoleto black truffle, is harvested a few centimeters below ground in the period from December 10 to March 15.
2 - WHITE TRUFFLE (Tuber Magnatum Pico) (or white truffle of Piedmont, white truffle of Alba or white truffles of Acqualagna)
harvested at 80 cm below ground in the period from October 10 to December 31.
3 - SUMMER or "ENGLISH" TRUFFLE (Tuber Aestivum Vitt.)
is almost always harvested just below the ground surface in the period from June 10 to August 31.
4 - BURGUNDY or FRAGNO TRUFFLE (Tuber Uncinatum Chatin)
grows at the same depth as the summer truffle and is harvested in the period from October 10 to January 31.
5 - WHITISH or MARZUOLO TRUFFLE (Tuber Albidum o Borchii Vitt.)
harvested at a medium depth in the period from January 15 to April 15.
6 - MUSKY TRUFFLE (Tuber Moschatum de Ferry)
picked at medium depth below ground in the period from December 10 to March 15.
7 - BRUMALE TRUFFLE (Tuber Brumale Vitt.)
8 - SMOOTH BLACK TRUFFLE (Tuber Macrosporum Vitt.)
9 - BAGNOLI TRUFFLE (Tuber Mesentericum Vitt.)
